Where Does Hemp Oil Come From?

HomeInsightsWhere Does Hemp Oil Come From?

Hemp Oil is quickly gaining popularity in international markets, but what is hemp oil, where does it come from, and more importantly, does it get you high?

Where Does Hemp Oil Come From?

Hemp oil originates from the same plants as marijuana, but it is NOT the same, and sadly, it won’t get you high. The oil has trade amounts of THC which is the substance that helps to get you high, instead, it contains higher concentrations of cannabidiol, CBD hemp oil which is found to boast highly effective medicinal properties.

Basically, there are two main elements to marijuana – THC which gets you high and CBD which boasts the medicinal properties.

There are two forms of hemp oil, one which is drawn from the plant and one which is drawn from the seeds and is legal in all 50 states of America as it does not fall under the definition of marijuana by the standards of the US Government.

Hemp which is taken from seeds is produced by the process of pressing the seeds after cleaning the seeds by up to 99.99% before they are pressed. This ensures that the hemp oil complies with the manufacturing laws and guidelines.

If it Doesn’t Get You Hight, What’s the Point?

Well, there’s quite a few actually! Hemp can be found in thousands of products including: cars, clothes, paper, soil building materials and many more commonplace items.

Hemp has always been a sustainable alternative to a variety of different products yet growing any form of cannabis is illegal in America.

Hemp Oil Medical Uses

Hemp oil can also be used for medicinal purposes to treat conditions such as cancer, epilepsy, insomnia, migraines and anxiety. Lower doses can be a great preventative healthcare method, and higher doses can fight certain conditions and diseases.

Even with hemp oils miraculous properties it is still recognized as a supplement, rather than a medicine. Hemp oil is also highly effective when used as an inflammatory painkiller. The perfect alternative for people that don’t want to get baked whilst enjoying the medicinal benefits.

Products Made with Hemp Oil

There are quite a few different ways hemp oil is packaged up and sold to consumers. It’s found in skincare products, such as moisturizers, sold in pill form, and as a topical salve.

It’s also a great source of Vitamin E and tocopherols. When using as a salve, it’s mostly used to reduce pain like arthritis in fingers. It’s known to reduce inflammation and overall discomfort too.

So, if you’re looking for a ‘healthier’ way to boost cellular energy, increase focus, concentration and memory hemp oil may be the answer!

If you’re unsure of whether or not hemp oil products are a good option for you and your health needs, be sure to consult with your primary care physician.

Your doctor will quickly identify any medical reasons not to try hemp oil for pain or as a nutritional supplement.
