Have you ever had an experience running water down your bathroom or kitchen sink, and dumping it slowly or not? This is one example of a plumbing problem frequently faced by homeowners.
Since these are very painful and unpleasant at home, you need to try to clean these clogs as soon as possible. If you don’t, contaminants will start to build up in the pipe until it’s blocked completely.
To give you an insight, here are some of the best ways of do-it-yourself or DIY draining clogs.
Hot Water Technique
When the clogged drain contains a lot of debris, you should put a whole pot of hot water while removing the materials that block the drain.
Plunger
First, to use a plunger, you have to fill your tub or sink with a bit of water, then put the plunger over the opening of the drain, making sure that the surface of the rubber lip is clear.
Another way to clear the drain is by the use of a plunger. You have to fill your tub with water and place the plunger inside the crack. To dislodge the clog in the pipe, use an up and down motion to generate pressure and suction. Repeat this many times so that water can flow freely and flush out clogged drains.
Plumbing snake
A plumbing snake is a thin wire or plastic rope that can get into a drain to dislodge a clog.
To use this, cut the drain cover, and drop the plumbing snake’s knotted end into the drain. Pull the snake and rotate it to crack the debris, or attempt to catch the substance to clear the clog.
