Carlisle Castle

 Hadrian’s Wall

Hadrian’s Wall is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and sightseeing in Carlisle is considered incomplete if you don’t visit this place. It is a perfect example of human engineering and is the best conserved Roman monument in Britain in the present scenario.

You can drive out to Birdoswald Roman Fort for seeing the longest remaining stretch of the wall as well as the vast remains of the Roman fort.

Carlisle Cathedral

Walby Farm Park

Lanercost Priory

Lanercost Priory is the best-preserved monastery in Cumbria beyond the city. It is very close to Hadrian’s Wall. So, you can make the plan to visit both the places on the same day. Priory endured a number of attacks from the Scots in the past. But, now it is a peaceful site.

Talking Talk Country Park

Kirklinton Hall and Gardens
