Recently IBPS released notification for recruitment of Clerk.  The IBPS Clerk Prelims is going to take place on 08th, 09th, 15th & 16th December 2018 and Mains is scheduled to take place on 20th January 2019.

General Tips for IBPS Clerk Prelims Exam 2018

Revision is Must:

  • Revise whatever you study. This will help you in your preparations.
  • Make small notes for yourself to help you in your revision.
  • Try to attempt at least 100 questions from the syllabus that you have studied.
  • Divide section based on strong, weak and weakest areas.
  • Gain 90% accuracy in your strongest areas and then move on to re-examine your weak areas.

Improve your Accuracy and Speed:

  • Your accuracy is the number of questions that you answer correctly.
  • Avoid the questions that take more time and confuse you.
  • Take easy and less time consuming questions first.
  • Skip those questions which might cost you negative marks.
  • Do not take any chance while attempting questions, because high number of attempt should have high number of accuracy.

Focus on your Strong Areas:

  • While preparing for exams you can start with topic that you feel more confident.
  • Some topics are more scoring than others, in the sense that they have more weightage than other ones in the exam.
  • Some examples of such topics are Reading Comprehension, Error detection, Cloze Test, Simplification, Analogy, Arrangements & Patterns, Number Series, Algebra, Geography, Science, Polity, Basic computer parts and functions, etc.
  • Strengthening such topics will fetch you more marks and time in the exam.

Time Management:

  • Time management plays a crucial role in banking exam. Attempting all questions in the given time frame is crucial. With proper time management you will be able to check all the questions one time. Moreover, this will help you not to miss any easy question.
  • The questions that you find difficult to solve are tricky questions. The types of questions that you spend less time in solving are easy questions.
  • Divide your time wisely to prepare all the subjects.
  • Time management while giving mock test or solving previous year paper –

English –

Attempt all the easy and scoring questions in 15-20 min. Meanwhile, note down the question number of those tricky questions, that you think you can later attempt correctly. If you have time left in the end then, try to solve these questions.

Quantitative Aptitude –

Follow the similar approach in Quants and attempt the easy and scoring questions within 25 minutes.

Reasoning Ability

– Solve the easy and scoring questions within 15-20 minutes. Manage the time left after that accordingly.

  • Attempt online mock test and check your preparation level.
  • Check the place where you do silly mistakes and avoid repeating them.
  • Give attention to the mistakes you make, analyze and carefully correct them.
