A simple exercise you can consider is walking. To ensure you exercise regularly, you can enroll in a gym. However, you might have a tight work schedule that might make this impossible. If so, you can incorporate some activities into your routine, such as walking or cycling to work.

2. Adopt a Healthy Balanced Diet

Many people change their diet for short-term benefits like better digestion or weight loss. However, understand that whatever you eat significantly impacts your lifespan. Thus, it’s crucial that you adopt a healthy diet. It includes meals rich in fiber, whole foods, and vegetables.

3. Get Quality Sleep

Sleep is essential as it helps your body repair from the stress you’ve had throughout the day. With sleep deprivation, you are likely to have a weak immune system. It makes you susceptible to heart attack, high blood pressure, and stroke, which decreases your longevity.

To help have enough sleep, have a bedtime routine. Begin by avoiding any electronic device during your bedtime. Additionally, have a conducive sleep environment that includes no noise and switch off the lights.

4. Take Supplements

You’ll have good health and a longer lifespan when you take the right quantities of vitamins and minerals. These important vitamins and minerals can be found in longevity supplements. These nutrients include; omega-3 fatty acids, selenium, vitamin K, and vitamin D.

5. Drink More Water

The body needs fluids to transport nutrients, help digestion, and eliminate waste. In addition, the fluids lubricate the eyes, air passages, and joints. On top of this, water helps boost your lifespan. To reap the rewards of water consumption, ensure to drink regularly.

6. Quit Smoking

Notably, people who smoke live ten years less. In addition, many people in the USA die because of smoke-related issues. It’s the case as smoking makes you susceptible to cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, and stroke. They are life-threatening diseases that can decrease your longevity.

To have a better chance of living longer, it would be best that you stop smoking. It’s better to quit smoking at a younger age to reduce the chances of suffering the implications.

7. Drink Moderately

If you love enjoying your alcoholic beverage, ensure that you take it moderately. Understand that alcohol has many effects on your body that can affect your lifespan. First, alcohol weakens your immune system making you prone to diseases. Additionally, drinking can cause liver inflammations like cirrhosis.

To avoid the adverse effects, ensure to cut your drinking. To follow this plan, ensure not to drink on an empty stomach. Also, avoid putting yourself in situations where you might indulge in heavy drinking.

8. Have an Active Social Life

Human relationships also help boost your longevity. Staying connected helps improve your physical and mental health. In addition, humans need each other to survive. Hence, with these connections, you’ll know that there are people who care about you, which promotes your health.

To help maintain a healthy social connection, spend less time on your electronic devices and more with your loved ones. Also, be open to trying new things, which will help you build relationships and meet other people.

9. Reduce Stress

Unfortunately, stress is an unavoidable part of life. What’s more, stress can take a toll on your body, causing it to slow down on its functions. Stress can lead to depression, high blood pressure, anxiety, and disorders.

With chronic stress, you decrease your lifespan. Luckily, there are different ways you can cope with stress and, in turn, protect your health. It could be going for therapy sessions and yoga.

10. Go for Regular Medical Checkups

It’s essential to have routine medical checkups. Through these checkups, you’ll stay on top of your health. Your doctor can help find possible health issues before they become hazardous. Early detection of diseases means early treatment, which will improve your lifespan.

There are many ways to improve your lifespan. For them to be effective, you need to make necessary adjustments to your lifestyle.
