4 Reasons Why You Should Consider A Career In Tech

HomeNextGen4 Reasons Why You Should Consider A Career In Tech

With a US$3 trillion value, the tech industry is set to grow as technology becomes more and more a part of the everyday functions of businesses and households. From groundbreaking discoveries such as IoT, nano, and AI, the future seems to hold quite a remarkable outlook for tech. While tech plays a part in everyday life, those who happen to make tech a career choice won’t look back, and here’s why.

Tech is part of every industry

Whether pursuing traditional careers such as medicine or teaching, or taking on a sales role at a big marketing company, technology still plays a part in the daily operations. From lesson plans researched on the internet and electronic equipment that measures all the vitals, to logging interactions with clients through a CMS, every job function has at least one connection to technology.

Opportunities for growth

Meritocracy is a term that future techies need to learn, as tech companies often thrive on this value. This means climbing the tech corporate ladder is more geared towards the value you bring to the table, as opposed to the drivers in other fields, such as nepotism, cronyism, and more. Graduates who want to work in a job where they feel they make a difference will find a home in tech.

It pays really well

For those who want to enter the tech field for the love of it and are experiencing some flack from the family and friends, this is an industry where you can love what you do and still get paid. Add the terms “developer” and “designer” to that tech title and suddenly the salary bracket jumps an extra digit. Not only do tech careers pay well, they also create space for the techie graduate to reach their personal financial goals.

It has the potential to be a good side hustle too

Family still not convinced that tech is the way to go? Go for that legal or medical degree and do tech on the side, because this is a surprisingly lucrative side hustle. Those who have the ability to do tech support, build a website, or have great coding skills can make some real cash from it. It may even be enough to kick the “real” job to the curb.

Not only are tech careers the future, but also happen to be financially lucrative for those who choose the right disciplines.

My name is Cassie and I spent over a decade working as a ER nurse and first responder. The way I came to cope with this was by meditating and learning to be mindful of my actions and what happened to me in my life. It helped me live a healthier, less stressed life, and made me more effective too. As a freelance writer I like to write on this topic, and have worked with several sites on this and similar health issues.
