A morning routine can make you more productive and set you up for a successful day.
Constructing your morning routine to minimize stress can make it easier to get up in the morning if you’re not usually a morning person.
Listen, I know how hard it is to wake up early. I insisted that I worked my best when I sleep throughout the day and start working in the evening and continue until the wee hours while the rest of the world is sleeping.
It’s scientifically proven that it is an unhealthy approach to being overwhelmed.
It’s time to stop telling yourself you’re not a morning person and change your habits if you want to be your productive self.
Here are some tips to finally wake up early:
TIP #1: Plan Ahead
Planning ahead helps avoid the morning rush.
Before you go to bed, think about why waking up early is difficult, and visualize what parts of your morning are the most stressful. Consider knowing how to justify those instances by preparing for each day the previous evening.
Is breakfast a constant struggle? Stock your fridge with healthy, no-prep foods like fruit and yogurt. Do you spend time staring into your closet figuring out what to wear? Try laying out your clothes in the evening.
By doing this process, you are less worried about how to start each day and more time on what you need to get done.
TIP #2: Set a Motive (Knowing Your Why)
What are you going to do with your extra time when you wake up?
Do something that excites you. During your early mornings, it’s best to do something that you love because it will make waking up early easier.
If your goals don’t excite you, you’ll see waking up early as a punishment, which won’t encourage you to get out of bed and make them a reality.
TIP #3: Have a consistent sleep and wake schedule
Pick a bedtime and wake up time and stick to them as much as possible. As we know, life happens but try not to sleep in for more than an hour or two, tops.
You won’t be able to change your sleep schedule overnight. The most effective way to do so it to make small changes slowly.
For example, if you’re trying to go to bed at 10:00 pm, rather than midnight, try this: For the first three or four nights, go to bed at 11:45 pm for the next few days.
By working in 15-minutes increments, your body will adjust and eventually, you’ll wake up at your desired time.
TIP #4: Engineer your environment to make wake up early easier
It’s easier to stick with a habit when manipulating your environment.
For instance, you’re more likely to do yoga if your mat is already set out on the floor.
Here are some tips:
Place your alarm clock across the bedroom so you have to get up to turn it off.
Make your bed immediately.
Set your coffee on a timer so it’s ready when you wake up.
TIP #5: Mindful Morning
Start your day in the presence of God and connect to your higher self.
Create a mindful morning ritual that will help you start your day with a clear mind and an open heart.
A morning ritual can be anything from meditation, praying, practicing yoga or your daily work.
Here are some of the mindful morning activities that I do:
Gratitude:
I always start my day with gratitude. I named five things that I am grateful for.
Gratitude changes the way we see, feel, and think.
Meditation:
Learning how to meditate is one of the best investments you can make in yourself.
The benefits are magnificent, there are multiple types of meditation which include mindfulness, which I do often as well as 5D meditation.
The most important part of creating a morning ritual is that you find what works best for you.
TIP #6: No Phone
Don’t use your phone first thing in the morning.
I always struggle to not look at my phone the first thing in the morning.
When you check your phone the first thing in the morning you start your day on someone else’s term.
You start your day based on the framework of someone liking a photo or emailing you about a business offer. Instead of the endless possibilities, your day could have, you limit your starting point with a screen.
The best way to break to escape the phone checking morning cycle is to charge your phone in a separate room and use an alarm clock to help you wake up you without the temptation of getting on your phone.
Ready to be a morning person and boost your productivity?
Plan ahead so you can start the next day with confidence.
Try it out: manipulate your environment so it could be easier for you to wake up early.
And also charge your phone in a separate room this week and find something helpful to put in place of morning scrolling.
Start the day on your terms and do amazing work.
I hope you find this information beneficial for you!
