KPMG which stands for Klynveld Peat Marwick Goerdeler is one of the Big Four accounting firms in the world. The remaining three big firms being Deloitte, PWC and E&Y are quite competent among each others.

KPMG has primarily three major lines of services namely, Audit, Taxation and Advisory. Major work of the company is focused on its auditing services.

The total strength of the employees across the globe is around 174,000 people. The headquarters of the firm is at Amsterdam in Netherlands.

Each KPMG firm in different countries is a separate legal entity and is a member of the KPMG International Cooperative, a Swiss entity. The company is awarded the world’s most attractive employers in 2010 among the Big Four firms.

KPMG India was established in 1993. The Indian entity has grown so fast to incorporate its significant offices in the country that includes Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kochi, Chandigarh and Ahmedabad.

As per the company records there are around 2700 companies as its clients only in India. The company has a very good structure and has very good value systems. It has a more professional career approach towards its businesses and its processes of the clients.

The Management Consulting is a part of the Advisory services wing of the firm. It provides solutions to the industries with the latest technology and information services. SAP and Oracle are the consulting services catered to the improvement and development of the clients businesses.

    • Employee retention is not only an issue with KPMG, but also with most of the IT companies in India. The reasons being competitors pay better or due to lack of projects or may be because of manager-employee poor relationships or unrealistic goals and deadlines. Thank you Rosalie for your concern.
